Max Dorey is a set designer for theatre originally trained at Bristol Old Vic Theatre school. He has been involved with theatre, set design and construction since a young age. Following a BA at the workshop theatre at Leeds University, where he studied English Literature and Theatre Studies, he took his interest in puppetry and creating and making theatre and designing shows to an MA at Bristol Old Vic Theatre School.

Following a stint in London assisting many designers and a year at the Royal Shakespeare Company, Max settled back in Bristol and became a resident artist at Puppet Place on Spike Island.

Max still designs for theatre, as well as moving to film and tv, particularly in set decoration and props, and recently has taken his passion for models and miniatures to an artistic practice with his instagram and website ‘Dreamy Ox‘.
